The story began over ten years ago. Michelle, our designer, had been working mainly with materials like 925 silver and brass but was in search of something stronger—something purer—that could support her boundless creativity.
That’s when she discovered 316L stainless steel, a material then used primarily for surgical instruments. With its high chromium content, it’s not only stainless and durable but also hypoallergenic and fully recyclable—making it the perfect choice for modern, everyday jewellery.
Michelle gradually mastered working with 316L stainless steel—experimenting with new shapes, laser-cutting steel plates, and equipping the workshop with specialised tools for her craftsmen. She quickly realised the creative possibilities were endless. Combined with the expertise of our artisans, this innovative approach produces a mirror-like polish that few other materials can achieve, setting ZAG Bijoux jewellery apart for its brilliance and craftsmanship.
